ABOUT SONY FOUNDATION
Sony Foundation is the charitable arm of the Sony group of companies in Australia. Our mission is to capitalise on the unique qualities of Sony and contribute to the advancement of the Australian community by assisting its youth and fostering their talents.
Since 1999, Sony Foundation has raised more than $18 million for youth-related causes to support people facing issues such as disease, disability, disadvantage and natural disasters.
In 2010, Sony Foundation launched the You Can program nationally, with the intention of building specialised youth cancer centres around Australia. In 2013, Australia’s first You Can Centre opened in Perth and in 2014, Sony Foundation committed to building a second at Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney. In time, Sony Foundation aims to establish a network of You Can Centres around the country.
The Sony companies (Sony Australia, Sony Music Entertainment, Sony Computer Entertainment, Sony Mobile, Sony DADC and Sony Pictures Releasing, Television and Home Entertainment) are proud to contribute to the administrative and operating costs of the Foundation in order to allow every dollar raised to got the charity programs the Foundation supports.
